Viewshed

• This service will work for any point on the earth except points that fall in the ocean and points above 80 degrees North or South latitude.

• The maximum viewshed distance is 20000 meters.

• This task is based on a python script tool that does the following:

• Buffers the "Input Observation Point" by the "Viewshed Distance"

• Uses the buffer to run Extract by Mask on a global 90m DEM. This reduces the viewshed calculation to a manageable size.

• Runs the Viewshed tool on the extracted raster and returns this as its output.

Parameter	Explanation
Input Observation Point	The input location from which the viewshed should be calculated.
Viewshed Distance	The maximum distance from the input point for which the viewshed should be calculated. The maximum allowed distance is 20000 meters.
Viewshed Result	The resulting viewshed feature class given the user location and maximum distance.
